Naomi holds space for families making hospice decisions, or living with an old animal who is changing fast. She is known for being precise and unsentimental in the best way.

About this work

I spent twelve years as a hospice social worker before I opened this practice. That job taught me how to sit in a room where nobody knows the right day.

I will not tell you when to euthanize. I will tell you what your animal is asking for — more sleep, less handling, a person who used to visit, the smell of a particular blanket. Families often already know. They want someone else to say it.

Sessions are slower. I leave room for silence. Notes go out the next morning, not the same night, because I don’t want you making a decision at 11 p.m. from a recap.

Works with

Senior animals and end-of-life conversations. Languages: English, Mandarin.

Pip was 16. We were waiting for a sign. Naomi said he wasn’t asking us to wait — he was asking us to stop lifting him onto the couch because it hurt. We put a ramp. He used it for three more weeks, then he was ready, and we knew. I would book her again for that kind of honesty.

Gentle without being vague. She described a habit of Tofu’s (sitting in the empty pasta box) that I had never mentioned. That was enough for me.
